Join us in celebrating our 4th annual Good Deeds Week from April 18 through April 26!

Good Deeds Week is an annual tradition we celebrate at First Bank to promote the Power of Good. We’re dedicated to spreading kindness and compassion through simple acts of goodwill. From small gestures to grand initiatives, Good Deeds Week is meant to inspire individuals and communities to come together and make a positive impact.

As we gear up to celebrate this meaningful event once again, here are 4 free and accessible ways you can participate in Good Deeds Week, ensuring that kindness knows no bounds and that everyone can join in the spirit of generosity.

Give compliments

Compliments are a quick way to give someone a little pep in their step. Simple compliments like, “You’re doing a great job” “You have the best laugh” or “You make that look easy” have the power to make someone’s day.

Give gratitude

Want to elevate your compliment? Add some heartfelt gratitude! A simple compliment like, “You really know your stuff” becomes a super-compliment when you add something like “Thank you for all of your hard work. You really know your stuff, and I appreciate your expertise.”

Give support

Make an effort to be present for someone in your life. Lend them your ear, ask how they are doing, and let them know you are there for them if they need you.

Give compassion

Acts of kindness like holding the door open for someone or returning a shopping cart are little ways to show compassion for our neighbors. You might find that acts of kindness have a ripple effect and encourage others to do the same. Here are a few ideas to get the good started:

  • Leave a positive review for your favorite local business
  • Lend your expertise to someone who needs advice
  • Write someone a note
  • Pick up litter
  • Help an elderly neighbor with yardwork or chores
  • Donate gently used clothing
  • Shop local when possible
  • Wave to your neighbors
  • Walk a dog at the local animal shelter
