Health Benefits
Medical
First Bank offers you the choice of two medical plans through Blue Cross Blue Shield. Each plan provides the flexibility to access both network and non-network doctors and facilities. Premiums, deductibles, and coinsurance vary depending on the plan. Preventative care is covered at 100% with network doctors in both plans. Additionally, a tax-efficient Health Savings Account is available with an employer contribution. Prescription drug benefits are available through First Bank’s Blue Cross Blue Shield medical plan options.
Flexible Benefit Plan
You may contribute tax-free dollars to the Health Flexible Spending Account (FSA) and/or Dependent Care FSA.
Dental
First Bank offers you the choice of two dental plans through Ameritas. The plan covers services ranging from diagnostic and preventative care to orthodontia treatment.
Vision
Our vision discount program allows you to obtain services, and purchase eyeglasses and lenses at discounted rates.
Life and Accident Insurance
Basic Group Term Life Insurance/AD&D
Group Term Life and Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D) Insurance for you, your spouse, and your children is available. Associates working 20 hours or more per week are provided Basic Term Life/AD&D. Associate benefit amount is two times annual salary up to $300,000 maximum. Spouse and child benefit pays $5,000.
Supplemental Life Insurance/AD&D
You may purchase Supplemental Life Insurance/AD&D for yourself – from one to five times your annual salary, up to $500,000. Spouse benefit increments are $5,000 up to $250,000 maximum. Child benefit amount is $10,000.
Disability Coverage
Short-Term Disability
Through the Short-Term Disability (STD) plan, you may receive benefits equivalent to 60% of your salary for up to 12 weeks.
Long-Term Disability
The Long-Term Disability (LTD) plan pays 60% of your salary to age 65. Benefits start after 12 weeks of a covered disability, which are generally covered under the STD plan.
Investment Benefits
Retirement and Savings Plan
You may save from 1% to 100% of eligible compensation on a pre- and/or post-tax basis in the 401(k) Savings Plan (if you are at least 21 years of age; IRS limits apply). Associates are 100% vested. First Bank offers a generous employer match of 100% for your first 6%.
Stock Purchase Plan
First Bank offers you an economical way to become a shareholder of the company. Work over 20 hours a week to purchase company stock through payroll deduction using the Dividend Reinvestment Plan.
Additional Benefits
Paid Time Off
First Bank provides paid time off (PTO) to be used for vacation, personal illness, or to care for dependents, emergencies, and other needs that require time off from work. As a full-time associate, you can accrue up to 18 days of PTO in your first year. You can expect periodic increases to your PTO throughout your tenure. Scheduled part-time associates are eligible for half that of full-time associates.
Maternity Leave
First Bank provides six weeks (five weeks post birth recovery and one week bonding leave for a total of 30 business days) of fully paid maternity leave for all associates who have been employed by the Company for at least 12 months prior to the beginning of such leave.
Parental Bonding Leave
First Bank will provide one week of fully paid parental bonding leave (one week caregiver/bonding leave – five business days) for a new parent (who did not give birth to a child).
Paid Holidays
First Bank observes 11 paid holidays each year.

Pursue your academic goals to further your career with assistance from First Bank. We will reimburse you up to $1,000 annually for any job-related courses based on the grade received. All employees are also eligible to receive a tuition scholarship applicable to any degree the University of Mount Olive offers.
